Introducing: Push PR London

All in all, last Wednesday was a pretty great day. My fashion feature was finally finished and printed, the sun was shining and the LCS team and I were off to visit Push PR. Nestled between the West End and Shoreditch, Push PR is a London-based independent full-service communications agency specialising in luxury fashion, jewellery, beauty, lifestyle and health & fitness brands. ScotlandShop, Eileen Fisher, Tara Starlet, The Fold and Tusting are just a few of Push Pr's clients.

Inside the showroom space

We arrived to be welcomed like long lost friends and shown to a lovely lounge area, where we were greeted by Emma Hart, Creative Director and founder of Push PR, who enlightened us about PR companies' role in the fashion industry and how stylists contact them when they're searching for clothing or accessories for a shoot. After chatting with us, she let us browse the collections and I was particularly stunned by their gorgeous selection of jewellery.

Offering luxury brands such as Rachel Galley and Ruifier, Push PR is definitely the go-to agency for jewellery. More information about Push PR here.

Love, Emme.

LCS Editorial Shoot 1

It's Saturday, it's gloriously sunny and I'm about to share the backstage photos of my first Spring/Summer 2014 editorial shoot with the London College of Style which took place this Wednesday... Life is good! For those that don't know, that was my very first editorial as a stylist and I was lucky enough to work with an amazing team of experts ranging from celebrity make-up artist Martin Carter, hair stylist Carolina Crona to fashion photographer Edu Torres, lovely model Lise Aanes and fashion stylist and LCS deputy principal Dan Blake, who truly helped us out get the perfect shot.

Martin's set-up at 7TH Man Magazine studios

The morning of the shoot we all (me, my classmates and the LCS team) met at 7TH Man Magazine studios in Notting Hill, just the time to get Lise's hair&make up done and we were ready for the individual shots.

Then, come 5pm, it was time for my Art House outfit to be photographed by Edu. The part I'm most proud of is the jacket I customised for the shoot: a plain Asos jean jacket that I turned into a Prada inspired statement piece.

My final look

Customised jacket, Zara printed dress, Topshop tomato knee high socks, vintage lace ankle boots.

Needles to say, the whole experience was so over exciting I pratically hyperventilated throughout. It definitely was a day to remember.

Love, Emme.

Current Trends: Spring Summer 2014

Since I love not having to wear six layers squelching around in the pissing rain, I'm happy to state that Summer's just around the corner, which means longer days, warmer weather and of course, Spring/Summer fashion trends. I know, I know, there are numberless of delightful trends we can identify this season and it can be hard to narrow them down to just a few that are worth trying. That said, in the interest of catering to the material girls inside all of us (and giving myself a good excuse to indulge in my favourite past time: browsing the shops), I've put together a list of the coolest fashion trends and runway inspired high street pieces to try out this season.

Art House

Prada

Celine

Chanel

Jil Sander

It's not the first time fashion has been referred to as wearable art and for this season designers took the phrase literally. From Prada's Diego Rivera inspirations to Jil Sander's Kandinsky-esque prints, this trend will push your style boundaries. Get your daily dose of attention with some of my favourite artsy pieces.

Florals in the springtime will never go out of style. It feels seasonally appropriate and a touch of floral is always perfectly ladylike. This year, though, they've been re-invented and taken on a new darker and urban vibe. Here are a few ways to wear this trend.

Pastels in the springtime aren't exactly a novel idea, are they? But when the flowers are blooming and the Earth feels fresh again who doesn't want to wear a palette that reminds them of flagrant blossoms, cotton candy and all things lovely? Plus, now you can find these colours in some sharp, edgy pieces that you won't be able to resist. Pair them up with bright coloured lips for instant glamour. For starters, take a peek at these pastel delights.

The Glamour of Italian Fashion

The moment I heard that The Glamour of Italian Fashion would be one of the V&A’s major fashion exhibition this year I knew it would be fantastic. You see, I’m an Italian signorina and my own love affair with fashion started in Florence, where I first spotted the exquisite glamour of high-end boutiques.

Inside the exhibition

The exhibition contains an enormous and diverse range of material. It begins with the tale of Italy's first step into the international fashion industry during the 1950s to the country's latest creations, going through 70s Missoni, 80s Versace and gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana confections.

Ankle boots by Dolce & Gabbana, Spring/Summer 2001

Despite the endless supply of glitter that made my eyes so happy, the focus of the exhibition is firmly on craftsmanship and the exceptional quality of techniques, materials and expertise for which Italian fashion has become renowned.
However the show does not only revere the past. It also looks forward, considering how a national industry supported by tradition is adapting to today’s age of global markets and digital media.

Suffice to say, it’s a truly inspiring show. Besides learning (more than) a thing or two about Italy’s fashion legacy, you have the chance to glance at extremely amazing dresses and jaw-dropping examples of Italian design.

The Glamour of Italian Fashion will run at the Victoria & Albert museum until July 27th 2014.
More information here.

Love, Emme.
